After Neo’s electric scooter, the Japanese automaker Yamaha recently showcased the Yamaha E01 electric scooter at a dealer-exclusive event in India. The Yamaha NEO’S electric scooter was launched in Europe in March 2022.
Apart from this, Yamaha claims to be planning on bringing it to the ASEAN market in stages. The Yamaha E01 electric scooter is comparable to a 125cc ICE scooter, whereas the Neo’s is more in line with a 50cc ICE scooter.

Design of Yamaha E01 Scooter
The design of the Yamaha E01 electric scooter is pretty close to the concept that was displayed at multiple auto shows. The scooter comes with the same bulky bodywork with a spine in the middle and a single-piece seat. Even in its current form, the E01 looks quite admirable.
Apart from this, the Yamaha E01 electric scooter gets a host of features, including a fully digital LCD instrument console with a SIM card and smartphone connectivity, regenerative braking, and reverse drive function.
It also features LED illumination, the three riding modes: power, standard, and eco), GPS function, and a traction control system. Besides the under-seat cavity, the E01 also has two storage spaces at the front.
Yamaha Motors India said that the concerns about travel range, charging time, and charging process will be addressed during the testing. And this brings us to the specifications of the Yamaha E01 electric scooter.
Yamaha E01 Electric Scooter Specifications
The Yamaha E01 electric scooter will be similar in size to Yamaha NMax, and the seating layout will also be somewhat similar. The electric scooter will have a 4.9 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of powering an electric motor. The motor will deliver 8.1 kW at 5,000 rpm and 30.2 Nm of torque at 1950 pm.
The Yamaha E01 scooter will give a range of up to 100 km and a top speed of 100 kmph. The scooter will come in three power modes and a reverse mode. The scooter comes with all new sporty look with mat shed in black panel along with glossy shed in white panel.
The scooter comes with fixed type battery like most of the other Indian player like Ather, Ola and TVS. The reason behind attaching fix type battery is to increase energy density. The capacity of the battery in E-01 is 4.9 KW/hour which is quiet good in this segment.
According to the reports, the E01 scooter will be coming with three charging options. For domestic purposes, a standard charger can be used, whereas a fast charger will be able to charge the scooter up to 80 percent in just an hour, using a 110 volt to 250-volt AC supply, which has been designed to carry the scooter, as well as to offer a 14-hour charging time.
Yamaha E01 On Road Price
The expected price of the E01 is Rs 1,15000. However, the price will be confirmed once it is launched in India, which hopefully be happening soon.
The scooter comes with under-seat storage of 28 liters which is pretty good and spacious compared to other players like ola and Ather.
Yamaha E01 release date
After learning everything about the features, specifications, and price range of the model, you are now probably wondering when Yamaha will launch the scooter in India. Well, as per reports, it is expected that the E01 will be released in November 2022 in India. That is all informed at the moment.
