At the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday, Porsche unveiled the Porsche 963 endurance racing car.

The car results from a 2021 partnership between Porsche Motorsport and Team Penske.

The hypercar is designed to LMDh requirements, with a Multimatic-supplied LMP2-category chassis.

The 963's 4.6-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, based on the hybrid 918 Spyder's powertrain, is the center of attraction.

The paint scheme is both alike old and modern. The color blocking of black, white, and red creates a characteristic race-car appearance.

LMDh hypercars are the first to be allowed to compete in championships both in North America and across the Atlantic.

Using standard parts, including chassis and hybrid systems, reduces costs for OEMs.

As a result, many manufacturers have entered the market, including Acura, BMW, and Cadillac.

The 963 has completed 4900 test kilometers and will have a full practice run in November in the FIA WEC's 8 Hours of Bahrain.
