Volkswagen's all-new Amarok pickup truck has been finally revealed after months of teasers, sneak glances, and drippy-faucet drips of information.

The 2023 Volkswagen Amarok adopts Ford's new T6 chassis, which underpins the latest Ranger.

The 2023 Volkswagen Amarok is more than a rebadged version of the Blue Oval's midsize truck.

The new Amarok will be offered in two-door standard and four-door crew cab configurations, with rear- or four-wheel drive.

Amarok 2023's overhangs have been trimmed to improve off-road capability by improving approach and departure angles.

Towing capability of up to 3,500 kilos will be available depending on engine choice.

All engines producing 207 horsepower (154 kW) or more will come standard with a ten-speed automated transmission.

The touchscreen spans 10 or 12 inches depending on the trim level and is powered by a modestly modified version of Ford's SYNC 4.

The Amarok 2023 has over 20 driver-assistance features, and matrix LED headlamps and a Harman Kardon sound system.

The redesigned Amarok will go into production in September at Ford's Silverton plant in Pretoria, South Africa.
