The two versions are thoroughly compared below based on several factors: comfort, design, power, performance, and more.
The Retro Battlefield: The Comparison between two Retro Machines
Royal Enfield Meteor or Honda Hness CB350: Design
These motorcycles are retro-inspired with their rounded headlamps and teardrop-shaped gasoline tanks. The headlight of the Meteor is a halogen fixture with an LED ring surrounding it that serves as the DRL.
It features a split-seat design, a low, contoured rider’s seat, elevated handlebars, and footpegs placed in front of the rider. A backrest for the passenger and a spherical LED taillight is located in the back.
On the other hand, the CB 350 receives a setup with only LED lights. The front indicators serve as DRLs; when in use, they flash, but when not, they are always on.
The seat is made up of a single piece and is comparatively flat. The footpads are only slightly forward-set, and the handlebars are not raised. Both motorcycles come with alloy wheels, while the Meteor’s top-spec model has dual-tone alloy wheels.
Honda CB 350 vs. RE Meteor 350: Power
The previous RE 350 singles’ old pushrod layout has been replaced with a SOHC setup in the Meteor’s engine. As a result, there are fewer vibrations and smoother power delivery.
The exhaust note is much smoother now, although it still has a bass-heavy thump.
Moreover, the CB 350 now features a thunderous exhaust tone from Honda, making it a true competitor to Royal Enfield motorcycles!
Royal Enfield Meteor or Honda Hness CB350: Performance
Both bikes typically have 350cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engines. Both bikes produce roughly the same power; the CB 350 has 0.8 PS more than the Meteor, and its torque is also 3 Nm higher at 30 Nm.
The CB 350 is the segment’s most torquey bike as a result. The CB 350 also receives a segment-first traction control system.
The engine of Meteor is undoubtedly RE’s most sophisticated single-cylinder motor. Both come with a 5-speed transmission that functions very smoothly when changing gears.
However, the RE misses out on a slipper clutch, whereas the CB 350 receives one. However, both motorcycles have crisp gear shifts.
Moreover, compared to the Meteor, the CB 350 accelerates faster in the middle of the rpm range. However, the latter has a better low end. However, the top lot of both motorcycles feels flat.
The CB 350 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 14 seconds, but the Meteor needs 18.11 seconds. The CB 350 rises to the top in terms of acceleration.
However, the Meteor wins when using less fuel, with an average fuel economy of 35 km/l compared to the CB 350s at 32 km/l. Overall, the CB 350 feels more entertaining and exciting to ride, while the Meteor provides a more leisurely cruise and sophisticated experience.
Honda CB 350 vs. RE Meteor 350: Features
The semi-digital instrument console of the new Meteor is one of its most notable features. It also has an analog speedometer and an analog speedometer, along with an LCD for the fuel gauge, trip meter, gear position indicator, odometer, a service reminder, and a clock.
The turn-by-turn navigation indications are on a second, smaller TFT multi-color screen, which you can attach.
The Royal Enfield’s switchgear is brand-new and features rotary dials for the lights and an engine start/kill switch.
A windscreen comes standard on the top-spec “Supernova,” and Royal Enfield offers a wide range of customization options, including alternative seats, more oversized footpads, and various additional touring accouterments.
The Meteor 350 is unquestionably the best 350 in Royal Enfield’s range if you’re searching for a 350cc classic and are intent on buying one.
And the Honda CB 350 is the model to choose if you want a vintage motorcycle that isn’t a Royal Enfield.
Indeed, in the end, it will all come down to personal preferences, and you’d make your choice after test-riding each to determine which best suits your build and riding style.
They are both capable and comfy if you are worried about riding a long distance.
